Divide and Rule- PDP's new mantra to stay in power
Party trying hard to vitiate peace in JK
2/12/2019 11:24:05 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: Peoples Democratic Party seem to has been issuing veiled threats to the stability of the state through its repeated rhetoric and has been striving hard to vitiate atmosphere of peace in order to reap political benefits from it.
On Tuesday, party issued back to back veiled threats to the Governor administration and also tried to instigate people to rise against the present regime. "Such a trend was never witnessed in the state ever in the past. There are different names being given to the government by the PDP the party is trying to vitiate the atmosphere of peace in the state," said an Official within the administration.
He added that the PDP has invented yet another issue to stay relevant over the political horizons of the state and that is to pit Kargil against Leh and vice versa. Also the PDP wanted to create a wedge between Jammu division, Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley. "It is Ok if the party wants to play politics over the divisional status to Ladakh, rotational headquarters to Leh, demanding separate divisions for Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley, but party shouldn't divide the state in any way," said a netizen while reacting to one of the statements issued by PDP's former Vice President Sartaj Madni.
The leader accused the Governor administration of functioning without taking public sentiment into consideration or assessment of requirements on ground. According to him, such a way of functioning is causing tensions and sowing seeds of discord for future in the already sensitive state having a very peculiar socio political architecture.
Maternal uncle of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti stated that while it was a welcome step that Ladakh had been declared a s division, it was at the same time unfortunate that the Governor administration had ignored the development deficit in Pir Panchal and in Chenab Valley.
Meanwhile, people are questioning such a stand of the party and are terming it an attempt to divide people of the state. "The way PDP is issuing statements clearly indicates that it wants to pit Chenab Valley and Rajori against Jammu and Kargil against Leh and exploit the regional sentiments," said a senior social activist based in Jammu.
