Launch of former IAS Officer's political party was packed with flaws, incorrect statements
Between the Lines!

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 21: Four days ago, a former IAS Officer Shah Faesal launched his own political party in Srinagar. However, what raised several eyebrows was the historically incorrect statement that Faesal made, leaving people doubtful over whether they really were listening to an IAS topper. As Faesal announced the beginning of his political innings and launched his new political party with few Quranic verses, what caught the attention of those who know history is that this one time IAS topper doesn't even know the details of Treaty of Amritsar which was signed by Maharaja Gulab Singh and British.
On March 16, 1846, the sale-deed, called 'The Treaty of Amritsar', was signed at Amritsar between the British and Maharaja Gulaab Singh of Jammu. Gulab Singh purchased Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgat, Honza and Askardo against 75 Lakh NanakShahi- the currency in rouge.
However, as Faesal was speaking he mentioned the Treaty of Amritsar. According to this IAS topper Maharaja Gulab Singh didn't pay 75 lakh to British but mere 75 thousand NanakShahi. Here are the exact words used by Shah Feasel in his speech: ""173 years ago, one historical decision was made whose anniversary was yesterday (March 16). It is called the Treaty of Amritsar . It is bizarre that the entire nation was sold against mere 75 Thousand Nanak Shahi Rupees."
"Now, when such an erroneous statement was made by none other than the person who wants to bring revolution in the state, one could imagine the what hopes one could have from his party," says a netizen.
He added that even if this incorrect statement was made by Faesal, he was duty bound to issue clarification and apologise for the same. "There were hundreds of youth who had thronged the venue to listen to him. They have returned home with 75 thousand Nanak Shahi as an amount involved in the treaty of Amritsar. Such grave errors are seriously unacceptable," he said.
Meanwhile, not only Faesal was caught on a wrong foot, the anchor of the entire event, a lesser known radio jockey, used incorrect grammar with full confidence like terming the day 'Historical' instead of Historic and asking people 'Aap Tashreef Farma Hojayee'.
Further more, Shehla Rashid, known for her atheist views took a complete U-Turn on the stage and said Darood o Salaam instead of Lal Salaam on the stage. He even betrayed her comrades in Delhi by starting her speech with Islamic Prayers in order to give people assurance that she has abandoned Marxism and now her ideology is Islam.
She even, during her speech equated Sun shine with God's mercy and rain as God's wrath. "Sun is shining today. It means Allah Talla is with us and supports us," she said as she started her speech.
Meanwhile, people are terming such utterances nothing but non-sensical. "That lady must know that it is rain which is always a good omen for people and for the land we cultivate. She must know what rain means to a farmer ahead of the sowing season in Kashmir. What she wanted to engage God in Kashmir's weather pattern," says a youth from north Kashmir who was present in the rally.
