Srinagar, Mar 24: National Conference candidate from Baramulla constituency and former Minister Mohammad Akbar Lone has once again stirred the hornet's nest by raising raising Pro-Pakistan slogans in workers rally in north Kashmir. The video has gone viral on social media sites.
In the video, Lone can be heard raising 'Pakistan Zindabad' Slogans multiple times. "When in assembly they raised Pakistan murdabad slogans. I rebuked them and raised Pakistan Zindabad slogans," Akbar Lone can be heard telling his workers.
In the video that is being widely circulated, National Conference workers can be seen cheering Akbar Lone.
Last year the National Conference Leader Mohmmad Akbar Lone raised pro-Pakistan slogans in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after BJP members condemned the neighboring country over the terror attack on an Army camp in Jammu.
As soon as the House assembled here, the legislators, cutting across the party lines, condemned the terror attack and demanded a statement from the government; however Akbar Lone stood up and raised Pro-Pakistan slogans.
"Yes, I said it. It is my personal view, I said it in the house and I don't think anyone should have a problem with it: National Conference MLA Akbar Lone was quoted by various newspapers.
However no action was taken against him. The NC leader is seeking votes so that he can represent Jammu and Kashmir in Lok Shaba.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that "it's not for the first time that Akbar Lone has raised pro-Pakistan slogans. He has been doing it again. Till date police have not taken any action against him. It seems for them he (Lone) raising such slogans is non-issue as he is politician could be in power tomorrow."
He said if J&K Police could register an FIR against two students who didn't stand up when National Anthem was being played at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) in Rajouri district. "Why can't the J&K Police register FIR against the politician is he above the law?"
