80 bovine animals rescued in major smuggling bid

RAMBAN, May 18: Police parties led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal, SHO Batote Inspector Nazir Ahmed and SHO Chanderkote Inspector Abid laid surprise naka's at Ramban, Chanderkote and Nashri respectively on Jammu-Srinager NHW.
During checking at Shan Palace(P/S Ramban) 3 Trucks bearing Reg. No's JK18/1226, JK02AF/7205 and JK03D/8270 got intercepted.On search the above said vehicles found loaded with 56 Bovine animals.
During checking at Chanderkote naka (P/S Chanderkote) intercepted one Tata mobile bearing reg no. JK14B/0496 & on search the vehicle found loaded with 05 bovine animals. Similarly during checking at Nashri (P/S Batote) a Truck bearing reg no. JK02A/5733 got intercepted and on search the vehicle found loaded with 19 Bovine animals.
Total 80 bovine animals have been rescued from the clutches of smugglers, who were trying to smuggle these bovine animals towards Kashmir. In all 5 suspected bovine smugglers namely Haroon Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Rikhi Barha, Anantnag, Mohammad Arif son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Kanga Ramban, Basharat Ahmed son of Mohammad Saber resident of Qazikund, Anantnag, Mohd Khushal son of Chandi resident of Parnote and Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohammad Younus resident of Neera,Ramban has been taken into custody and all the above said vehicles has been seized.
On questioning, the suspected person's revealed that they were trying to smuggle these bovine animals towards Kashmir without seeking permission from the concerned authorities. In this regard case FIR NO's117/19,118/19 &119/19, 34/19 & 48/19 under section 188 RPC, 3PC act stand registered against the bovine smugglers at Police stations Ramban, Chanderkote, and Batote respectively and investigation has been geared up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in the crime.
