Right time to rein in Pakistan
5/21/2019 11:21:39 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 21: Pakistan, the epicenter of global terrorism and a rougue nation which has been bleeding Indian nation with a 1000-cut on daily-basis and leaving no stone unturned to foment one anti-India trouble after another since 1947, is currently facing serious economic challenges, with virtually no foreign exchange reserves, lower growth, a huge dip in manufacturing, a drop in exports, Imbalance with high imports amounting to increasing the trade deficit.
With India being the dominating nation in the sub-continent and the past and recent bitter relationship between both the Nations, it would have been ideal for India to press the hard button. Somehow in the midst of the election season in India, the focus shifted from the borders to the mainland. It was a blessing in disguise for Pakistan with the elections happening in India as all the tension between the countries and the recent Airstrike on Terrorist hideout training camp deep-inside Pakistan at Balakote did not turn into a full-blown War.
Now once the new Indian Government takes charge by the end of May 2019, its policies will determine the future course of action. There should be no letting down of the Indian interest and Pakistan must be shown its place to disturb peace in India via its sponsored terrorism.
The strategy ahead should be to recognize Balochistan as an independent country and help them install a government in exile in New Delhi. To stop any further nuisance from Pakistan, divide it further into four parts. The Government of India also has to implement three unanimous resolutions on J&K, passed in 1994 and 2013 that PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan were legitimately Indian and India will retrieve all these areas using all available means.
"Mere statements that Pakistan illegally occupied 33 per cent of J&K territories in 1947-1948 are not enough. The Government of India has to use all means to force Pakistan to quit the occupied areas," this is what strategic affairs experts have been saying. They have also been saying that the Indian Defence and Home Ministries have to devise and implement a policy that doesn't allow Pakistan to export terrorists and terrorism into India. They have welcomed the suspension of the cross-LoC trade with Pakistan, but, at the same time, expressed the view that "the Government of India has to take steps which end hawala transactions on a permanent basis".
The message to Pakistan must be loud and clear, respect and behave or face the consequences is the refrain of the strategic affairs experts.
