Jammu, June 11; A much needed Three Day Rejuvenation Camp started off at Observation Home, R.S.Pura, District Jammu being run by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with International Volunteer Foundation (IVF), District Red Cross Society Jammu and National Youth Awardees Federation of India (NYAFI) J&K from 11-13 June, 2019. The motive behind organizing this camp is to bring positivity in the life of children having conflict with law and let them believe that they have a bright future ahead. A team of professionals are among the special invitees to interact with the children living in observation home. A number of activities will be conducted in this three day rejuvenation camp which comprises of recreational activities, interactive sessions, talent hunt, various sports event, career counseling, academic discussions and folklore. Ajay Salaan, District Social Welfare Officer and Executive Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, District Jammu admires the effort of the young team of IVF who are committed to social cause and well being of the society. On the inaugural day, the camp started with the introductory note by Kiran Kumar Sharma, Chairman IVF and gave the details of the 3 day camp. A class of basics of Yoga was taken by Manik Dev Slathia, a certified yoga trainer, who teached children about the benefits and importance of yoga in day to day life. An interactive session was also taken by Dr. Ripu Daman Parihar, President, NYAFI, J&K with the children in order to know them, their likings and to provide them platform wherein they can express themselves freely without any hesitation. The children were very excited and motivated during the end of the first day and enjoyed a lot. The present on the occasion were Shashank Rawal, Team member, Red Cross, Mohd. Shahnawaz, Superintendent Observation Home, Vikrant Narwalia, Superintendent, Bal Niketan, R.S.Pura, Novinder Kumar and Amit Sharma, IVF Volunteers.
