Stray animals, street dogs create traffic jamming in Kishtwar, PAF demands action

Kishtwar, June 15: President Public Awareness Front Kishtwar Shakir Saddiqui exhibits great concern over negligence of Muncipal Committee for their failure to look at and to curb the menace of wondering street Animals that "have invaded every lane of the twin and have become a nuisance for the inhabitants".

Stray dogs have unleashed terror in various parts of district Kishtwar with the local municipality officials confessing that the rodent invasion is not only "causing nuisance" to the local people and commuters but has even created havoc in the areas of Kishtwar.
The wondering animals "have invaded every lane and have become a nuisance for the inhabitants .
However, scores of school going students and other private institutions lamented that in the vicinity of Hidyal Chowk and Shaheedi Chowk leading towards their schools, the wondering cows sheep's and dogs are terrified the students.
He said that number of street dogs roaming on college and school roads during school times both morning and evening.
We do not have an estimate on the number of stray dogs in the town but are very sure that their population is rising by the day.
Even street dogs have now become the threat for morning and evening walkers in Kishtwar town, he said.
Mostly, the bulk of dogs are found near the meat and chicken shops where vendors feed them. Dogs are spreading fear in the localities".
People said that due to the fear of stray dogs, they are not sending their children to schools. Population of stray dogs across the town is increasing day by day.
Saddiqui said, "We cannot even go to mosques to offer morning prayers due to fear of dogs." Saddiqui urged the District Administration Kishtwar including Municipality officials to look into the matter and save the people from the dangerous stray dogs. He said chicken and mutton vendors feeding stray dogs could have serious consequences for the general public in Kishtwar district Saddiqui further added that stray animals are the root cause of traffic jam and increasing the risk of accident too.He appeals the muncipal committee kishtwar to come out of hibernation and work for general public.
