Kishtwar, June 16: After delay of several months, Assistant Commissioner Development Kishtwar has directed all the Block Development Officers of the district to implement the High Court orders to release the salaries of around 48 GRS engaged without following due procedure.
The issue was highlighted by Early Times following which the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar vide letter No. ARA/K/19/022-23 dated 8-06-2019 directed the ACD to implement the court order dated 11-3-2019 in SWP No. 2033/2018, 1645/2018, 1719/2018, 1945/2018, IA No. 01/2018, SWP No. 2112/2018, IA No. 1/2018 titled Yasir Arafat & others vs State of Jammu and Kashmir & others with regard to release of the salaries of hundreds of GRS including those of Kishtwar who had been denied the salaries since last one and half year on the grounds that they have not been appointed by following the proper procedure.
As per the details available with Early Times, ACD Kishtwar vide No. ACDK/Estt-40/2019-209/1849-64 dated 14-6-2019 directed the BDOs to implement the court directions in letter and spirit as was directed by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and ask them to submit the report by or before 19-06-2019 positively.
Speaking to Early Times, one of the BDOs said that they have no hesitation to implement the court orders. He urged upon the government to provide the slot for release of the salaries of the 48 GRS. He said that the salaries of all the GRS is being released online and that the district has only few slots vacant while the number of GRS whose salaries required to be released as per court orders is higher than the vacant slots. He said that the claims of the majority of the GRS is genuine since they are hardworking and played a good role in overall functioning of the department. The BDO urged upon the government to address the issue by providing the slots for the release of the salaries.
