Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 17: The photo of Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar Dr Haseeb Mughal carrying son of his colleague who succumbed to his injuries after getting wounded in a terror attack in south Kashmir has gone viral on the social media.
Exactly a day after the Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police Arshad Ahmed Khan succumbed to the injuries, the J&K Police shared two heart-wrenching pictures of the Dr Mughal carrying the deceased's son in his arms during the wreath-laying ceremony at District Police Lines, Srinagar on Monday.
In the pictures the city police chief is seen in teary eyes. The wreath laying ceremony was attended by government top brass including advisers to Governor, Army, CAPF, police officers, Khan's family members and colleagues.
As the pictures surfaced on the social media, they broke the internet with many of the people even in Kashmir paying tributes to the departed soul.
"This conflict is consuming all of us... RIP," posted one Rouf Ahmed.
Already a file picture of the slain cop holding his two little kids had gone viral after the news of his death broke on Sunday.
Khan, who was critically injured in the attack in South Kashmir's Anantnag district earlier this week, succumbed to his injuries at AIIMS, New Delhi, on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Arshad Khan, Station House Officer (SHO) of Anantnag, was airlifted to Delhi's AIIMS for specialised treatment.
Five CRPF Jawans were killed when the militants targeted a CRPF deployment in Anantnag district last Wednesday. With Arshad's death, the number of security personnel killed in the attack has climbed to six.
"We deeply mourn the sad demise of our brave heart Inspector Arshad Khan who was injured while fighting terrorists on 12th of this month on K P Road Anantnag. The entire Police Pariwar is behind the bereaved family in this hour of grief. We salute your valour," J&K police had tweeted on Sunday evening.
A resident of Srinagar, Khan is survived by parents, wife and two sons aged two and five years.
