Early Times Report

Kishtwar, June 17: A week after security forces busted a terror hideout in Keshwan area of Kishtwar and recovered some arms and ammunition, the new faces of terror were caught on camera in the same area in which two local youths could be seen displaying weapons while listening to provocative songs luring the youths towards militancy.
As per the details available with "Early Times", in the two minutes & 26 second video, two local youths could be identified as Ghulam Nabi Wani alias Tunda and Javed Ahmed Hajjam, both residents of Keshwan.
Tunda was injured after a grenade exploded in his hand some 8-9 years ago Javed Hajjam too had links with the militants in past and his brother Nazir Ahmed Hajjam is a surrendered militant. In the video, the two new faces of terror could be seen playing with pistols and a hand grenade inside a well build up hideout. Tunda is said to be the father of four children while Javed has two children, and the security agencies are busy in ascertaining the facts behind the joining of the militancy of the duo. None of them is so far registered as militants and the security forces dealing with the militancy have been caught on backfoot with the surfacing of the video and are tight lipped over the issue.
When contacted, a senior police officer denied having any knowledge about the video clip in circulation on social media which suggested the Kishtwar police is playing safe over the issue of surfacing of the fresh video related to increase in militancy in Kishtwar district.
Though Keshwan area by road is around 40-45 km from Kishtwar, by crossing river Chenab, it is hardly 2-3 km Kishtwar town and the militants operating in this area could easily penetrate into Kishtwar town to carry out militancy related activities like the killings of Parihar brothers and RSS leader Chanderkant which shook the entire Jammu region. Both Kishtwar police and NIA has failed till date to come up with names of those involved behind the killings and the motive behind the same.
