Border villagers plight as a result of delay in setting up bunkers
6/25/2019 11:49:23 PM
On one side Pakistani troops continue to resort to series of ceasefire violations, on the other hand there is a prolonged delay in the construction of community and individual bunkers on the LoC and on the in Jammu. The progress is 14 per cent of the construction work. And the people living in the border villages, kissing Pakistan territory, suffer and are scared of mortar shells. The total number of bunkers was given by the central Government to the tune of 14460 bunkers.
Out of this 1431 were to be constructed as community bunkers and the remaining 13029 as individual bunkers. And so far 2054 bunkers have been constructed and those implenting the construction work had sought Rd.25 chores and the Government had reimbursed C2A0 rd.15.39 chores However, the Governor, S.P Malik, has suggested to the agency to the Agency to treat it as part of security related expenses. Out of the 14460 bunkers 670 had to built in Jammu, 670 in Samba, 547 in C2A0 Kathua, 107C2A0 in Rajouri and 60 in pooch. This indicates that vast street IB from Akhnoor to Kathua is prone to Pakistan, ceasefire violations. Still the C2A0 Government has been able to complete 20
54 bunkers which is an example C2A0 of slow work. And despite the misery of border villagers the central Government is least bothered about the significance of the project. Either the Govt. Of India should motivate Pakistan to stop ceasefire violations and export of terror or the Centre should hastily complete the project. The Government of
India should attach importance to the construction of bunkers when the centre knows it fully well that neither Pakistan will stop ceasefire violations nor Islamabad will end export of terror. And through ceasefire violations militants are C2A0 pushed into Jammu and Kashmir. And these militants I bulge in incidents of violence. Hence it C2A0 is imperative for the centre to complete the project on a war footing and that is the only solution.
