Jammu, June 26: On "International Day for fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking" -Crime Branch, Jammu, as part of the United Nations Drugs Control Programme, carried out awareness programmes by way of rallies in Jammu City today on 26th of June, 2019, which marks the International Day for fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Two teams were formed at Zonal Crime Headquarters, Jammu and were flagged off from Zonal Crime Headquarters, Jammu by Sh. Mushtaq Ahmed, InchargeSSP Crime Branch, Jammu along with other senior officers / officials of Crime Branch Jammu present on the occasion, for intense campaign in various parts of Jammu City.
The Anti-drug teams were led by Inspr. MohdAfzalWani and the second team was led by Inspr. Vijay Verma of Crime Branch, Jammu alongwith their staff.
The other officers present on the occasion were -CPO JawaidKhawaja, DySP B.K. Ganjoo, DySPMohdAslamBhat, DySPIrfan Khan, DySP P.K. Tickoo, besides other NGO's and Lower-subordinate staff.
Excise Department in collaboration with Youth Association for Service of Humanity & Nation YASHN organised anti drug abuse rally in Poonch on international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Continuing awareness campaign against abuse of drugs and Psychotropic Substances, today on the direction of Excise Commissioner M. Raju and Deputy Excise Commissioner Executive Jammu S. Amarjeet Singh KAS under Supervision of V.S. Pawar ETO and Inspector Mohd Arif drug rally held in Poonch on international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. Theme of this years rally is "Justice for Health, Health for Justice ". Rally was attended by civil society members in large numbers. Bike rally was organised Youth Association for Service of Humanity and Nation (YASHN) starts from Government degree college Poonch via Chandak, Kalai, Kahnetar and culminated at College ground. On the occasion posters were distributed to spread the awareness among masses. Rally was flagged by Swamiji Shri Vishavatmanand Mahraj and Chairman Muncipal council Poonch Advocate Sunil Sharma along with Imtiaz Salaria President Youth Association For Service of Humanity and Nation (Regd NGO) and all councillor, president bar association Poonch Advocate Mohd Zaman, Chairman Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball club and member of volleyball federation of India, Excise officials of Poonch Shabir Bhat, Pardeep Sharma, Sarfraz Khan and Mohd Hafeez.
Ramisht College of Education, Plahi(Basohli) observed anti-drugs abuse campaign to aware the students and staff of the college abuse the harmful impact of the drugs abuse. The campaign started the speech delivered by Dr. Saifullah Khan Principal of the college in which he laid emphasis on eradication of drugs abuse from the society by saying drugs abuse the society killer. 3-4 students presented their own views on the drugs abuse. Most of them emphasis on the eradication of society killing practice that is the abuse of drugs, most of the students lead on the control of drug abuse. They said that this practice should born completely soon with the help of awareness programmes, campaigns, seminars ,symposium, debates, in which government , officers, society, students, and teachers should be take oath that they will never tolerate the abuse of drugs. Parveen Singh Asstt. Prof., Ruchi Sharma, Asstt. Prof. also expressed their opinion.
A special assembly was conducted in HS Sathra in which main focus on Say No To Drugs , Say Yes To Sports . All students prepared topic on ill effects of drug and read in the Assembly. Later Rajinder Singh Physical education teacher told students not to indulge in any Drug related Activity rather advice students to Participate in Sports and other co curricular activities, He also tell students to guide their neighbours that how Drug Ruined Life and guide them not to indulge in any activities related to drug. Farooq Ahmed master aslo guide students Say No to Drugs. A rally was also conducted through Main market of sathra in which students holding charts about Drug Abuse and shouting slogans Like Drug Ko Khatam Karo , Drug Hatao Desh Bachao to aware people about Say No To Drugs.
J&K Girl BN NCC of GDC, R.S. Pura organized a Poster Making Competition today under the guidance of Principal of the College Dr. Sunita Sudan and supervision of Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, ANO. The event was organized to observe 26th June as "International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking". The NCC cadets made informative posters to create awareness about side effects related to negative use of Drugs. The cadets also took pledge to make R.S. Pura a Drugs-free Zone so that the youth are motivated to resist drugs and breathe a drug free life.
On the observance of 26th June-2019 as "International Day against Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking", a drug awareness programme was organized in P/S GRP Jammu. Members of civil society and drivers of vehicles operating from Railway Station Jammu were invited in the programe. A large number of participants spoke on the occasion which include Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP GRP Jammu, Anita Pawar SDPO GRP Jammu, Vinod Kumar SHO GRP Jammu and others. Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP GRP Jammu while addressing the participants, briefed about the ill effects of drug abuse and how it has derailed the life and career of people particularly youth. He advised the participants to remain away from this menace. He emphasized that future drug awareness programs should be organized at Railway Station Jammu in co-ordination with different civil societies. In his address, SSP GRP Jammu appealed to the participants to desist from drug menace. He advised staff of GRP Jammu to maintain strict vigil on the activities of nefarious elements who may use Railway platform for smuggling of drugs. All those who delivered lecture on the occasion vociferously briefed the participants about menace of drugs abuse and how it effects the body and mind of youth.
