6/27/2019 12:17:26 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 26: Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) has demanded an enquiry against the officer of the State Taxes Department, who is allegedly instigating respectable trade bodies by issuing derogatory statements through social media.
According to press release, lodging a strong protest against concerned officer and demanded enquiry against such officer, who despite occupying a high position in government, has allegedly been following an agenda to disturb peace and tranquillity of Jammu region especially when Shri Amarnathji Yatra is about to commence.
A delegation of CTF led by its president and National vice president Confederation of All India Traders, Neeraj Anand called on Commissioner State Taxes PK Bhat and handed over a copy of the facebook statement of the said officer.
The delegation apprised the Commissioner of the deep anguish and pain amongst the trade bodies and members who were dubbed equivalent to looters, eve teasers, rapists by the said officer, all because the trade bodies exercised their democratic right to voice concern and pointed out shortcomings in the orders issued by the said officer.
Anand said that under the disguise of sale monitoring process, a fear psychosis was being created among gullible section of the small traders to establish "inspector Raj".
Sharing sentiments of the trade community, Anand asserted , "No one in the administration should remain under the false illusion that the trading community shall remain speechless and submissive what they used to be earlier"
Under the dynamic leadership of our Prime Minister Narender Modi and his trader friendly program, there is a corresponding and perceptible change in the business ethics of the trading community, otherwise how could you explain the rising graph of GST Collection in every subsequent month. Responsible leadership of CTF is doing its every bit to further the gains of efforts made by the PM.
He further apprised the Commissioner that the unwarranted, irresponsible arrogant and mischievous words spread through the social sites aimed at defaming the trading community in the entire nation is also being conveyed to CAIT, the premier organization of the traders. CAIT, he said, would take up the matter with Central Government.
P.K Bhat gave a patient hearing to the delegates and assured them of Departments cooperation in resolving all issues amicably. "We have our priorities and in the process if something perceivably wrong has happened, corrective measures would be initiated. Department does not have any policy to defame anybody, we rather encourage amicable relations."
Business with respect and nation building process should go hand in hand, said Bhat while confirming that more needs to be done, seeking better role of trade bodies he said officers of the department and trade heads should work in tandem to ensure a strong state and nation.
Anand assured all support to the department in all positive initiatives but noted that department heads should also be sensitive towards hard earned image of traders and explore available better ways to enhance tax collections rather than using social media to target them. Other prominent members who were part of the delegation were Raman Gupta, Parveen Gupta, Shiv Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Kailsh Nath Nagger, Tushar Mahajan, Ajay Gupta, Parag Abrol, S Balwinder Singh, Pt. Nek Ram Sharma and Bodh Raj.
