Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 11: Copying may be a thing of past in Kashmir but it is not so with respect to the holding of Bachelor of Education (B Ed) conducted by the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) here.
Sources told Early Times that that all the norms have been thrown to winds and candidates appearing in a particular examination centre are being facilitated to carry out copying while answering the question papers. These people are making merry at the examination centre with the support of invigilating staff.
"In brazen violation of examination rules the invigilating staff at the centre number 6 at the Sri Pratap (SP) College is favouring few students to copy during the examination. The rules are being conveniently broken so that these students do not face the difficulty in writing the answer papers," said sources.
Sources said that number of aggrieved students informed the higher ups about the developments but no action whatsoever has been taken so far. They said the influential are being provided every facility so that the copying is carried out without any problem by them.
"Few students have bribed the staff so they are provided a separate room to copy as per their desire. These candidates have no contact with the other candidates and they are appearing in examination as if they are some special candidates," said sources.
"The B Ed examination centre of students of IASE at S P College has turned up as a favourite place for some students since they are making merry. These students in collaboration with the examination in-charge are providing every type of help to students who are ready to grease his palm," said sources.
Sources said that some of the students including the President of IASE Students Union are involved in the mass copying at the SP College and the same is happening under the nose of higher ups of IASE and SP College.
"Although the President of IASE Students Union failed in the first semester examination still then he was not removed from his post as President a student is supposed to depict exemplary character," said sources.
Sources said that some of the higher ups of both the IASE and SP College are feigning ignorance about the issue even though they know each and every thing of the whole episode. The students as a whole have demanded action against the authorities as well as students so that same acts as a deterrent for the future.
