Early Times Report
Jammu, July 15: Editor Early Times Munish Gupta who would be contesting upcoming assembly election from Gandhi Nagar constituency as independent candidate on Monday his mass contact programme reached in Trikuta Nagar's Extensional Sector, 1/P and K C Colony.
During his campaign, he interacted with people of all walks of life and listened to their woes which is unattended since long times especially after the coalition government of PDP-BJP came to power in the state. "Neither Congress nor BJP gave any attention to our basic civic amenities particular construction of lanes and drains, cleanliness that plagued the locality in large", said Karan Singh.
"However, before election, all of them made tall claims of development with us but after getting elected they forget our genuine civic amenities. Their slogans over development proved as hollow slogan, said Ranjit Singh resident of Lane No 4 of Trikuta Nagar Extensional of Sector 1/P.
He further said that last time in 2002, the department had constructed our lane and blacktopped. Now the lane has been uprooted and even not good to walking. We repeated pleas to local councillor to restored or blacktopping but all in vain.
The callousness of sanitation department judged from this fact that since long time no safaikaramchari have come to unblock the drains, collecting garbage while in other areas garbage collecting vehicle always come. "We living in posh area of KC Colony but due to dilapidated road and lane and by lanes depicts bad images of our locality and its credit goes to local councillor who never visit the area after getting elected despite our repeated pleas", said Mohan Kour.
Sarishta and Anita Gupta both of them residing in Channi Kalana (now the area come under Trikuta Nagar Extensional) informed Munish Gupta that a nallah which flowing in the middle of mohalla has created havoc during raining season. Just ten minute rain creates flood like situation and its water damages all the belongings when they entered in their home.
We repeated complaints to department concerned either online or telephonically to raise its embankment but nobody come forward to provide relief to us, said Vimala Devi.
Sukdev Singh said that nearly two year ago, our road got sanctioned for blacktopping but the department still not initiated. "Some official of PDD informed us despite availability of funds and nod from PDD department, the local Councillor is delaying its blacktopping because, he wants the blacktopping work would be started just before the announcement of Assembly election", said Ranjit Singh and added that the maximum streetlights installed in KC Colony have been gone kaput due to technical stag but nobody come forward to restored it.
