PDP challenges Kishtwar police; will not seek bail, ready for mass arrest
FIR against Ex Legislator Firdous Tak, Youth President Wasil Doolwal

Jammu July 21: A day after Kishtwar police submitted a FIR in the Court of Principal District and Session Judge Kishtwar registered against Ex Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Legislator Firdous Ahmed Tak and PDP Youth President Wasil Doolwal, senior party leader and District President Kishtwar Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain challenged the Kishtwar police to arrest the former Legislator and Youth President. He said the party was behind the leaders and will continue to oppose divisive, dangerous plans of BJP lead Governor administration and clarified that both the party leaders will not seek bail. He added that the party was ready for mass arrests.
PDP was opposing the government move to strengthen the VDCs and accused the government of providing licensed weapons to RSS carder under the garb of VDCs.
Reacting over the controversy, PDP District President Kishtwar asserted that the party cadre are firm in its resolve to oppose any kind of plans which has divisive and dangerous agenda.
Issuing a statement on behalf of the party, Sheikh Nasir Hussain said that People's Democratic Party District unit Kishtwar has threatened mass agitation if the move to arm civilians is not withdrawn immediately.
In an emergent meeting held under party's District president Sheikh Nasir Hussain Advocate, the party leaders strongly condemned the registration of frivolous case against senior party leader and former MLC Firdous Tak and District Youth President Wasil Dolwal.
"The registration of case seems to be a step taken under political pressure and it should be immediately withdrawn. The party has legal recourse available but it will not be utilized and instead the entire cadre is ready for court arrest in case the administration wants to further appease their master in Nagpur", the meeting resolved.
The party leaders besides chalking out further course of action have decided to stood firm on their stand and oppose every move of administration to arm civilian in sensitive district Kishtwar. They have also decided not only to contest the cases in court of law but will also fight against every such dictatorial move on the streets.
"We have decided to file Public Interest Litigation on the issue besides launching mass agitation in case administration proceeds with the plans", Advocate Sheikh Nasir said.
He said while National Conference has already made its stand clear while standing with the administration to arm civilians the silence of Congress on the issue is self explanatory.
"Leaders like Vikram Aditya have publicly explained the present day Congress policies which are almost in league with Sangh parivar. The silence of local Congress leaders on the issue is not thus surprising", Nasir said while appreciating the stand taken by Shah Faisal of JKPM and party's local leaders.
