They construct lanes, drains where they are hopeful of getting votes: Advocate Inquilabi
Nanak Nagar residents accuse admin of being selective

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 22: Despite the President rule in state, the local administration has become so selective in their approach that they have been constructing/repairing lanes and drains, where they are hopeful of getting votes while other areas have been ignored. This was alleged by the residents of Nanak Nagar locality, who have been alleging total mess in the working of the administration, due to reasons known to them.
Advocate Joginder Singh Inquilabi informed Early Times that in Sector 3 of Nanak Nagar, the lane number 1 and 2 are in dilapidated condition. "For the last over two decades, the lane has not been constructed by the authorities. Though in the Lane 1, they have macadamized the lane till the areas, which they consider as their vote bank while the areas, which they consider will not give them votes, they ignore the same", Inquilabi said.
Inqualabi further claimed that from Gurudwara Sahib to Preet Nagar locality, they had compelled the administration to macadamize the road, after repetitively taken up the matter with higher officials, including the Governor secretariat. "It was assured by the administrators that the maintenance of the road will be the sole responsibility of the contractor but now the road has been turning into shambles but contractor is nowhere in sight", he further said, adding that it was beyond comprehension as why the authorities have been ignoring the areas.
Another resident claimed that the local leaders have not been paying any heed to their grievances. "The leaders seems to be totally negative and despite repeated appeals to them, work has not been taken upto repair the drains and lanes," the residents said, adding that due to future political prospects, the issues have not been taken seriously.
He further claimed that in most of the lanes, the drains have been choked, while roads were in shambles. "Whenever one calls the authorities, they claimed that contract has already been given to the contractor but contractor is missing. Even if you will find the contractor, he will simply pass the buck on no-funds, so from where the common public will give them funds", they questioned, adding that total mess has been created even in the posh areas of the constituency and condition of other localities could be well gauged from it.
