Raksha Bandhan on I-Day not mere coincidence: Khanna
8/17/2019 11:19:15 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 17: The falling of the festival of 'Raksha Bandhan' on the auspicious Independence Day is not mere coincidence but a divine indication that those at the helm of affairs in the country, especially the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah, are truly committed to serve as saviours and protectors, rather than mere rulers.
BJP National Vice President and Jammu Kashmir Prabhari, Avinash Rai Khanna, stated this while celebrating Raksha Bandhan and Independence Day here in border village of Harichak in Hira Nagar Assembly Constituency of Kathua District alongwith former Minister Rajeev Jasrotia, District President Prem Nath Dogra, Ex-MLAs Kuldeep Kumar and Durga Dass, Municipal Committee President Naresh Sharma and others.
Avinash Rai Khanna said that Raksha Bandhan symbolizes a commitment of safety and protection and celebrating this festival on Independence Day in the country was a rare occasion, which pointed that the time cycle after the emergence of Narendra Modi government for second term was giving a message that defending and ensuring security of the people, particularly lakhs of those in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, was first priority of the government. They are the people who got real freedom after abrogation of Article 370 and their first Independence Day was, in fact, very significant and joyful event celebrated with full enthusiasm. Avinash Rai Khanna said that no doubt J&K too had been celebrating Independence Day like other states but the people here were always concerned about One Nation, One Flag, and One Constitution and had been continuously agitating for doing away with the existence of separate flag and separate Constitution. The people of the State are highly grateful to Narendra Modi for displaying courage and his will to remove the barrier of 370 and bring the State under Union of India.
"It is a great occasion to convey to the younger generations in the State that they need to take their nation and the state to new heights in all matters of social, political, economic and other important fields of life", Khanna said and expressed hope that the State would now scale new heights of development and prosperity after it starts functioning as Union Territory. The programme was organised by Mandal President Bantu Sarpanch and participated by OBC Morcha State President Rashpal Verma, Mandal Pesident Bhanu Partap, Mahila Morcha District President Indu Rekha, and Sarpanches, Panches.
