Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 24: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has claimed that the state is out of bounds for all opposition parties except ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), which has been claiming normalcy in state.
Seniors leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) have criticised the state and the central government for not allowing the team of opposition leaders led by Rahul Gandhi to come out of Srinagar Airport and to know about the ground situation there.
The senior congress leaders questioned the action of the government in view of its repeated claims that the situation in the valley has normalised to the extent that all government and other institutions are working normally and there is peace in most parts of the state. They said that on one hand both Central and state government made repeated claims about the normalcy while on the other hand they have declared the state out of bound for all main stream leaders of the country except the ruling BJP.
This shows the mindset of the ruling class in Delhi and the undemocratic style of the present regime who have not shown little respect and regard for the tallest opposition leadership of the country in a democracy. The opposition is equally concerned about the overall affairs of the country and required to play own role for which they are also answerable to large section of the people
This is the fourth such attempt on behalf of the opposition to reach out to the people of the state. In view of the suitvation that emerged following the undemocratic and unconstitutional actions to disband the state and convert into UT. This is dispite the fact that the state Governor SP Malik has advised Rahul Gandhi to visit the valley and see for himself the normal suitvation prevailing on the ground it's almost 20 days after that repeated requests and attempts by the opposition in this regard have been discouraged and thought by the government. On the contrary when congress led UPA was in power at Centre and an unrest erupted in the state the then government itself encouraged and arranged a delegation of all party delegation including BJP to visit the state and access the suitvation and brief the parliament.
The signatuary to the statement includes JKPCC President G A Mir, Tara Chand, Madan Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, R S Chib, Suman Bhagat, Jughal Kishore, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Balwan SIngh, Prakash Sharma, Majeed Wani, A S Micky, Manmohan Singh, Yogesh Sahani, Balbir Singh, Subash Gupta.
