Jammu Police raid Rama Book store, books worth Rs 1.30 lakhs seized

Jammu: Sept 4
Jammu police has seized over 650 pirated books of Zoology Semester 1 and 2 from Rama book seller Opposite GGM Science College, Canal road, Jammu. Nowbag police raided Rama book seller book store Opposite GGM Science College, Canal road on Wednesday. The raid was conducted on the complaint filed by Modern Publishers that is a subsidiary of MBD group.

FIR in case has been registered against the Ram Lal who owns Rama Book Seller book store.
During the raid, huge quantity of pirated Zoology books, having same title and content that is produced by Modern Publishers was recovered. In the raid at Rama book seller book store , books worth Rs. 1.30 lakhs were seized.

A case has been registered against the accused for infringement of Copyright Act under 65 and 66 and section 420 of Jammu and Kashmir State Ranbir Penal Code.

Police officials said that modus operandi was to get same books with same title and content as produced by Modern publishers from some another printer based out in Delhi. Police officials said FIR has been registered and accused is absconding and search is on to arrest the owner of Rama Book Seller.


*J&K Police in Udhampur district recovered 80 kg of poppy straw at Udhampur, 03 interstate narcotic smuggler arrested in two different cases*
Jammu , September 4th:- J&K Police in Udhampur district recovered 80 kilograms of contraband substance (poppy straw) from 03 narcotic smugglers at Udhampur and Roundomail .
Giving details Sh. Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur Police party of PS Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani, NHW, for frequent checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration No. PB06H 9815 for checking.During checking of said vehicle, 50 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver namely Bagwant Singh S/O Kulwant Singh R/O Amritsar was arrested on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 408/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
In another case, Police party of PP Roundomail laid a naka at Dhar Road near CRPF Camp, Udhampur for surprise checking of vehicles.During naka checking, police party intercepted two vehicles bearing registration no. PB35Q 7642 and PB 07AA 7391 for checking. During search of said vehicles, 30 kg of poppy straw was recovered from both the vehicles.
Two accused drivers of the vehicles namely Niranjan Singh S/O Daleep Singh R/O Battala, Punjab and Surinder Singh S/O Karnail Singh R/O Dasua, Punjab were arrested on spot.
In this connection, two Cases FIR no. 404/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS and 412 u/s 8/15NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.

*J&K Police in Udhampur district distributed computers and accessories to the school children of Govt. High School Galiote, Panchari under Civic Action Programme 2019-20 *

Jammu , September 4th:- In an effort to reach out to children/youth of far flung areas of Panchari, Udhampur Police distributed Computers and accessories to the childrens of Govt. High Secondary School, Galiote, Panchari under Civic Action Programme 2019-20 of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur distributed these items to these children in the presence of Insp. Virender Gupta, SHO PS Panchari, Principal Sh. Piyaar Singh and other Teachers, School children, prominent citizens etc.
02 Computers with accessories, 02 UPS, Printer, 02 Computer Tables, 02 Computer Chairs etc. were provided to Govt. high School, Galiote, Panchari.
Addl. SP assured the participants that such initiatives to uplift the children of school going children of far flung areas would be repeatedly taken-up by Police under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police. He lauded the role of Principal and staff of Government High School Galiote for assisting District Police Udhampur in organizing such programme.

The General public and principal of Govt. High School Galiote highly appreciated the initiative of Udhampur Police in organizing such programmes under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Panchari area and requested District Police to continue organizing similar programmes in future as well.
