Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 5: Exhibiting insensitivity towards poor people, Tehsildar Mandal of Block Mandal Phallian of Jammu district refused to sign on the verification report of a student for spelling correction of his name in the mark certificate of Eighth Standard.
While narrating his tale of woes, Jogesh Kumar, farther of Dheeraj Muwalia resident of Murarpur Kothey Bakshi said that his son passed his eighth class this year, the result of which was declared in April but there were some spelling mistakes in his name as well as parents names in the mark sheet issued by DIET Jammu.
"In order to make spelling corrections in the name, I approached the DIET Jammu where I was told to bring verification report certified by the concerned Tehsildar and accordingly I applied for the same. Although the concerned Patwari, and Naib Tehsildar certified the report but the Tehsildar Mandal categorically refused to sign on the report without giving any reason," said Jogesh Kumar, who is a famer by profession.
Dheeraj Muwalia qualified his 8th standard from St John's convent School Mandal Satwari on 12-04-2019. The marks certificate issued by DIET Jammu, had some spelling mistakes in his as well as his parents names. "Instead of Dheeraj Muwalia, the Deeraj Muwalia was written on marks certificate and similarly there were some minor spelling mistakes in parents' names, which were to be corrected to avoid any problem in future," he said.
Jogesh Kumar further informed that he had enclosed all requisite documents for getting verification reports from Tehsil office including report of concerned Lambardar, Sarpanch, Ration Card, Aadhar etc but despite all these documents the Tehshildar Mandal denied to issue the certified report for the further submission to DIET Jammu.
"I am running from pillar to post to get my work done but Tehsildar Mandal is so adamant that he hardly bothered to take the issue seriously resulting putting the future of my son at risk. I tried a lot to convince him but he turned deaf ears to my plights," he said.
Shockingly, when Tehsildar Mandal was contacted by the Early Times, he out rightly refused to talk to the correspondent without even listening the issue, saying that early times had published a story against him when he was serving in Jorian. The Tehsildar further instructed the correspondent to visit personally at his office for asking any question. On receiving blunt reply from Tehsildar, when concerned SDM South Srikant Balasaheeb Suse was contacted regarding this issue, he assured to look into the matter.
