9/11/2019 11:09:01 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: As the uncertainity prevailing in this region after abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the State into two Union Territories (UTs) the Jammu and Kashmir Political Movement on Wednesday urged the Union Government to ensure domicle rights to the inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir to protect socio-economic rights of the people of this region.Furthermore the organization also demanded restoration of statehood to fulfill aspirations and wishes of the people of J&K.
Addressing a press conference spokesperson of Political Movement observed that status quo should be maintained regarding the domicile rights in J&K, as is being maintained in different states of India already, so as to restore social security among the masses in Jammu and Kashmir.
Movement also urged central government to provide statehood back to Jammu & Kashmir. "Jammu & Kashmir being a small state is already facing a lot of problems due to its hilly topography as we are already facing a huge problem of unemployment, therefore, jobs in Government institutions should be only restricted to the people of Jammu and Kashmir", leaders of Movement observed and added that environment being one of the concerns, and also the fact is that J&K in general and Kashmir in particular is a tourist resort hence no hazardous industries should be allowed to be setup here.
They also urged the government to restore communication especially mobile and internet as this blockade is affecting students, business class and common man.
"Further we urge the Govt to release all the detained youths arrested during the present turmoil keeping in view their career and age and not to arrest more youths.
This will serve as a confidence building measure among the people and will help in bringing back the life to the normalcy", they observed.
Movement leaders mentioned that due to misgovernance for the last 70 years, J&K remained backward in the field of development so there is emergent need to improve road connectity, education and health sectors. They also stressed on improve power infrastructure in this region.
"Government should take views and allow participation of people from all walks of life so that the people especially youth will feel democratically active. There is a new start that government is proposing and we want that people from state should be fully involved in formation of policies for the future", they demanded.
Earlier while discussing prevailing situation leaders observed that after August 5, every sector has been badly affected due to prevailing fear. "Although there is no restriction on the part of administration, people are hestitating to do their day today activities due to fear among them", they observed and asked the government to take some concrete step to restore confidence among common masses.
"The leaders who have been ruling the state always played the dual character through their negative politics, manipulation who had been misleading the people especially the youths of our state since decades had brought more problems to J&K and have been achieving their only goal of being in power by manipulation and Negative politics & had brought problems and problems instead of solutions for the state of J&K in general and Kashmir in particular like (bloodshed, corruption, destruction, misgovernance etc) which is proved now and they have been the reason to every problem of J&K which we are facing Now instead of any solution and had failed the J&K on every front", speakers stated in one voice.
Regretting that some media groups are projecting negative aspects of prevailing situation in J&K, Movement requested the media fraternity be it print media or electronic to bring up the positivity about Kashmir and play a positive role about the Kashmir, instead of any negativity which most of channels have been doing continuously since last many years.
