Pak leaving no chance to bleed India, GoI needs to act tough
Ceasefire violations claiming lives of civilians, jawans
10/16/2019 10:40:12 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16: Pakistan Army resorting to ceasefire violations in frontier areas of Jammu region is taking a heavy toll on the common people and the soldiers guarding the Line of Control (LoC).
On Tuesday, Shamima Akhtar of Noonabandi was killed in the Pakistani shelling in the Shahpur Sector of Poonch district. The death of the woman raised the number of fatalities in Pakistani firing along the LoC in the past 5 days to three. Earlier, two army jawans were killed in two separate incidents of ceasefire violation in the Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district and Uri Sector in Baramulla district.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "These ceasefire violations are aimed at disturbing peace and an attempt to push in armed terrorists into Jammu & Kashmir. The Pakistan Army besides targeting the forward posts on the LoC and the borders has also been hitting civilian areas. Our neighbour is leaving no stone unturned to bleed us."
He said, "How long can we keep on tolerating this unruly neighbour of ours. Seventy years is a long time to give a chance to anyone to mend his ways. Now, the time seems to has come to silence the guns on the other side for ever as they don't understand the language of peace and theory of coexistence."
An observer said, "The shelling from other side and infiltration attempts have increased manifold since the day Government of India (GoI) has reorganized Jammu & Kashmir. The GoI seriously needs to consider the options to make the LoC and borders peaceful and the only way out seems to be is to change the border and the LoC."
A Defence analyst said, "The present dispensation led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the past six years has proved it twice that GoI can take bold decisions. Surgical strikes in 2016 and Indian Air Force carrying out air strikes at Balakot earlier this year were significant decisions as the GoI has sent the message to the international community that the LoC can be trampled to set the record straight."
He said, "We cannot keep on loosing the lives of our civilians and jawans. There has to be an end to it. After getting isolated at the international forum and facing the heat from all the sides, Pakistan is trying to keep the proxy war alive in Kashmir. Attacking civilian areas on LoC is a part of the ploy to keep our security forces busy."
