550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devi Ji celebrated across Jammu

Jammu, Nov 11: The 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji was today celebrated with religious gaiety and fervour across length and breadth of the region.
Religious processions were organized in various areas of the region while colourful functions were also organized to mark the day.
In R.M Public School, Sukhmani Sahib path has been recited by the teachers and shabad kirtan by the students of the school. The golden words given by Guru Nanak Dev ji was kirat karna , wand chhakna , Naam japna.
Trustee Rita Mengi, Principal Ravinder Kour gave their wishes for the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji and advised the students to follow the principles of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Government College of Education, Jammu celebrated the day with great enthusiasm and fervor. To commemorate the event a symposium competition was held in the institute on the topic "Relevance of teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji".
Prof.(Dr) Sangita Nagari, Principal, GCOE was the Chief guest on the occasion.
The whole programme was organized by Prof. Sunita Devi (NSS Programme officer) Prof Shalini Rana (Cultural incharge) and Dr. Shubhra Jamwal.
Dr. Raj Singh Narania, Dr . Neelam Dhar, Prof . K. K Mangotra, , Prof. Ramzan Ali, Prof. Shapia and Prof.Seema Kumari were present on the occasion.
To observe auspicious occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS) organized a special assembly.
The students came dressed in traditional Sikh attire and the assembly commenced with paying floral tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji followed by useful information related to his life and teachings.
A serene and calm atmosphere was created by the soothing 'Shabad' sung by budding singers which reiterated the message "One God and the Eternal truth".
Management of the school conveyed their best wishes to all the students, staff and parents of the wards on this pious occasion.
British International School (BIS) celebrated 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the school premises with great fervour, devotion and enthusiasm to promote a national integration and communal harmony.
Subha Mehta (Deputy Director Tourism) was the chief guest on the occasion. Students presented a vareity of cultural programs which started with recital ShabadKirtan.
Students were dressed in white attire and performed breath taking Bhangra. Girls adored beautiful Punjabi suits and performed Gidda which held and the audience captive.
Pushp Vatika celebrated Gurupurab on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. All the students, incharges with teachers were present for path.
Shabad Kirtan was recited by teachers and students also participated in playing Gatka. Some teachers threw light on the life of the Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Everyone present there heard it with zeal and enthusiasm. Deg Prasad was distributed among all.
MHAC School Nagbani celebrated and rejoiced in the spirit of the festival Guru Nanak Jayanti with great gusto.
A special assembly was conducted in which the students marked the Prakash Purab with various activities.
They came forward to share useful information relating to the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Shabads and holy hymns were sung by the students . The students depicted glimpses of the sacred life lived by Guru Nanak Dev Ji .
Sween Puri ,appreciating the performance of the young performers and encouraging them to follow upon what Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught.

A special assembly was organised in the school premises in which students performed kirtan and the moolmantar. A spectacular Prabhat Pheri was taken out which created the religious vibes around the campus. The teachings of Guru Nanak namely kirat karo, naam japo and vand chako were highlighted through an elaborative speech.
An inter-house shabad recitation competition was also held on the occasion wherein Peace house bagged the third position, Joy House stood second and Wisdom House won the competition with a captivating performance.
Management, Staff and Students of Rich Harvest School celebrated 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti with reverence.
Obeisance was paid to the first Sikh Guru by the Children Singing Guru Bani. Through various speeches teachings of Guru Nanak were unfolded. Miss Sandeep Kaur narrated motivating incidents from the life of Guru Ji.
She told the children to perform good deeds and do selfless service.
Delhi Public School organized a special assembly to celebrate 550th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 11th November, 2019. The celebration commenced with a prayer which filled the air with sense of peace and tranquility.

The 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated in the auspicious premises of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. The event was organized by the Sikh Sangat of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and SMVD Narayana Hospital, Katra. The event started with paath of Sukhmani Sahib followed by Kirtan and Gurbani Vichar and, Guru ka Langer was served. Everyone paid obeisance to the Guru Sahib and got the blessings of Guru Sahib. The Sikh Sangat whole heartedly honoured Prof. R.K Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU and Mr. Dutta Dattatreya, Facility Director, SMVDNH in the function. The teaching from the life history of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the basic tenets of Sikhism namely Naam Japna, Kirat Karana and Vand chakna were reiterated in the event.
Stepping Stone Playway School visit Gurudwara to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Sri guru nanak dev ji. The main purpose of the visit was to accustom the tiny tots to start with prayer at an early age, seek blessings of the almighty and acquaint them with the significance of these Holy places. They were apprised with the rituals to be followed at various holy places. All of them visited Gurudwara Sahib with covered head joined hands and sparkling eyes and bowed down with respect in front of reversed Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. They all knelt down for taking the blessings of God and ate Parshad after holy Ardaas performed by the Bhai Sahib. After that, children also experienced the temple visit. Little wonders felt privileged and excited in ringing the temple bells and witnessing different divine sculptures of God and Goddess. Exuberance and gratitude radiated from their eyes as they thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
On the eve of Guru Nanak's Birthday, a special and Impressive function was held in the school premises of HPS. During which, students threw light on the life journey of Gurunanak Dev ji. On the occasion students presented many colourful dances, songs etc. Shabad and Ghatka was the eye attraction of the assembly which was appreciated by everyone with thundering applause. Students depicted in Panj-Pyare recited shabad and made everyone spell bound. Students also presented kirtan and mool mantar. Students presented a play, which depicted the bravery and valour of the Khalsa panth. The children were dressed in Punjabi attires and looked very impressive.
On the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Devji Children and Teachers of Sanfort paid obeisance to Guru Nank Devji at Gurudwara Sahib at Talab Tillo Digaina . Children on the occasion offered prayers for peace and prosperity of the world as per teachings of the Guru Nanak Devji. Sweets were distributed among the children by Principal and staff of the school on the occasion .
