Jammu sandwiched between power politics of New Delhi, Kashmir: JKNPP
11/21/2019 9:51:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 21: "With successive govts at the centre remaining focused on Kashmir and its peculiar issues, the people of Jammu region have continued to remain neglected and deprived. Their concerns have always been disregarded and downplayed and the present govt at the centre was no exception in this regard. Jammu continues to pay the price for being a part of J&K. And we continue to be sandwiched between the power games of New Delhi and Kashmir with none to listen to the shrill cries of Dogras for justice".
This was stated by Harsh Dev Singh Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman and Former Minister while addressing a huge public gathering at Majalta today.
Pointing towards the uncertainty prevailing in the erstwhile state in the wake of recent developments, Singh said that tension had gripped Jammu region as well despite it being peaceful and free from Pak sponsored terrorism. "Huge deployment of forces, banning of mobile internet services and resultant communication blockade has had its impact upon the socio-economic life of the people of Jammu region as well. Not only was Jammu too being projected outside as disturbed and unsafe, but the economy of the region was also being adversely affected. It is most regrettable that there were no takers for the sufferings of the people of Dogra land who were made sacrificial lambs at the altar of power politics of New Delhi ", observed Harsh Dev Singh.
Harsh Dev Singh said that it was JKNPP alone which had repeatedly brought in public domain and aggressively agitated against the most contemptuous and ugly episodes of bias doled out to Jammu region by successive govts. With Jammu made to reconcile with its second class status by various govts and more particularly the saffron flavoured govt, the JKNPP stand stood fully vindicated that statehood for Jammu was the only and ultimate solution for all ills afflicting the highly deprived region.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Manju Singh, State General Secretary-JKNPP, Dina Nath Chairman BDC Majalta, Om Parkash Chairman BDC Khoon, Dharam Singh President Tehsil Majalta, Rajesh Sharma Tehsil Youth President Majalta, Shri Basharat Ali, Nirmal Kesar, Kewal Sharma, Reham Din, Raghubir Singh, Balwant Raj besides others.
