Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 21: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the killing of Parihar brothers viz BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar on November 1 last year finally got the custody of the three Hizb militants from Jammu court.
On the bases of the court order, the jail authorities at Jammu handed over the physical custody of the three to NIA so that they could further proceed in the case.
As per the details available with "Early Times", after the Ministry of Home Affairs decided to transfer the case of killing of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma, weapon snatching incident of PSO of DC Kishtwar and PDP leader Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, the NIA intensified the investigation following the arrest of nearly two dozen militants and their OGWs by Kishtwar police including the militants involved in killing of RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma-who according to senior officials of Jammu and Kashmir police were also involved in killing of Parihar brothers.
The official sources told the "Early Times" that in order to expedite the probe into surge in militancy in Chenab belt including Kishtwar District, the NIA approached the Jammu court for transfer of custody of three militants namely Nishad Hussain, Azad Hussain and Nisar Ahmed so that more skeletons could be unearthed who were directly or indirectly involved behind the killings in Kishtwar town.
After making formal request before the court, the court granted 10 days police custody of all the three militants to NIA and directed the J&K Prison Department (jail authorities) to handover the custody of three militants to NIA for further investigation into the case.
The sources said that NIA would likely to approach the court in coming days as well for transfer the custody of more militants and OGWs arrested by the Kishtwar police and are presently lodged in different jails at Jammu as well as in Kishtwar.
It is pertinent to mention that the three Hizb militants who were involved in killing of Parihar brothers, RSS leader and weapon snatching incidents got killed in an encounter with Ramban police last month near Batote while they were on run following the pressure exerted on them by Kishtwar police.
Police has also recovered the stolen weapons of PSO of DC Kishtwar and PDP leader Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain while the weapon snatched by the militants from the deceased SPO of RSS leader is yet to be recovered and is said to be in possession of another Hizb militant Haroon Abbas Wani presently believed to be hiding somewhere in Dachhan area of Kishtwar District.
