Jammu, Dec 2: Jammu is all set to receive first ever honour at New Delhi's Kamani auditorium where a play from region is going to be held on Dec 13 amid celebrities drawn from national theatrics and even Bollywood also.
Kajal Suri , a daughter of soil whose Robroo group at New Delhi has been selected by Sahitya Kala Parishad New Delhi for performance of the play 'Ardhkavya' written by Jammu playwright Vikram Sharma terms it as a historical occasion
"After a yearlong survey throughout, only six best plays are selected for the mega event at Kamani auditorium and I am blessed to be one among them. Vikram Sharma's play 'Ardhkavya' has been selected for the production to be held on Dec 13," she said.
Kajal who is a renowned theatre doer in New Delhi is daughter of Late Vijay Suri, the doyen of theatre and films whose contribution to the art is unmatched so far.
To her credit is a long an unending string of success in theatre which has made her top celebrity in the capital.
Recently she and her Robroo comprising of a strong contingent of 28 artists had left an edible impression on the audience in Jammu through her play 'Heer Ranjha' performed in National Rangleela Natya Utsav-2019.
Besides, recently she produced one of the telling impacts through drama for her "Habba Khatoon' performed at Sri Ram Centre, New Delhi which had a unique story on the backdrop of Kashmir.
"Though I am working in Delhi, yet my roots are in Jammu and Kashmir. I always try to work on the projects related to the state. Vikram's 'Ardhkavya' is finest example of a grandeur success we both have achieved and performing 'Habba Khatoon' was my dream come true," she said .
Besides Ardhkavya, Vikram's Kaya has already made waves among the class audience of New Delhi and other states where I have performed the play nearly nine times, she said.
Though Kajal has always a busy schedule throughout every calendar year, in month of February, her group Robroo is coming up with Festival of four plays of Vikram Sharma which will be held every week at The Attic, New Delhi.
Besides impacting the national scene with her acting histrionics and directorial intellect, Kajal before moving to Delhi had already embossed her name in gold letter words on state's theatrics by bagging seven times best actress awards, Poornviraam's Maya as her last haul in Annual Drama Festival of J&K in 2015.
Recipient of Greenfly Excellence Award 2017 in theatre drama and voice and award for contribution in the field of Hindi theatre 2017 at Sri Ram Centre, Kajal's is one of the frontline choice as guest faculty to many national and international theatre events.
