Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 4: Continuing his public interaction programme, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Wednesday held meeting in Rajiv Nagar Jammu. Inhabitants of the area put their grievances before him particularly hefty power tariff bills expressing inability to pay such bills and that too when there is unscheduled power cuts in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla demanded suitably accommodating all those who have been served notices in wake of road widening. Bhalla regretted that despite construction of nearly 600 hundreds flats in the area at the cost of crores after the intervention of party President Sonia who had visited the area and had recommended to suitably accommodate inhabitants of Rajiv Nagar area nothing has been done in this regard by BJP Govt. While addressing, Bhalla said Congress is fully capable to defeat the communal and fascist forces which are hell bent upon to divide the people on religious and regional lines to serve their vested interests, but at the same time, he said people of JK UT have realized the political gimmicks of various groups and parties which were trying to make inroads in JK to create confusion among the voters. He stressed upon the people to remain vigilant against the political exploitation by BJP and ensure support to their Congress party.
Bhalla termed the privatization of Power Development Department (PDD) as anti-people move of the government which would badly affect the common and poor man besides the service condition of employees especially the fate of daily wagers, need-based and casual workers.
He lashed out at the Centre and State Government over being indifferent and insensitive to the woes of the people due to continued agitation over the issue of Toll Plaza at Sarore. While reiterating the demand for immediate stoppage of Toll Plaza at Sarore, Bhalla said that BJP is totally indifferent to the genuine demand which will affect all sections of people from various parts of the country, being tourist and pilgrims' state.
Due to the wrong policies of the BJP government, the youth are completely annoyed and least interested in agriculture and farming. Moreover, the promise of the Modi government to provide 2 crore jobs to the youth had proved to be a hoax, Bhalla added.
