Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 5: The principal of a government school allegedly molested some girl students during a picnic to holy shrine of Shahadara Sharief in district Rajouri.
Education department, however, has constituted a committee to inquire the matter. "On Monday, the students of Government Girls High School Lamberi went on a picnic at Ziarat Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah, Shahadara Sharief in Rajouri district", sources said, adding that the Principal of the School allegedly molested the girl students while travelling along with them in the same bus.
"The girls narrated entire incident to their families which ultimately brought the issue to the fore. No case has been registered by the police yet, and the department has initiated action against the Principal and an enquiry has also been ordered", they said.
They alleged that the Principal was harassing the students for a long time. "In the past, the girls have made complaints about the inappropriate touch by the Principal to their Physical Education Teacher and Physical Education Master, who happen to be women, but no action was taken by them ", they said, adding that being head of the institution no one dare to speak against him.
Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, Ram Swroop, when contacted tried to skirt off the issue. "We constituted a committee to enquire the matter", he said, adding that the matter has been resolved.
