GOC 15 Corps impressed upon selfless service towards Nation

Srinagar, Dec 7: After completing one year of strenuous training, the passing parade of 404 soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment (JKLIR) was showcased on Saturday at the Bana Singh Parade Ground of JAK LI RC.
The passing parade depicted the transformation of a graduated recruit and their transformation into budding soldiers. The passing out parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General K.J.S Dhillon, YSM, VSM, Goc, 15 Corps and was attended by over 1000 parents relatives of young soldiers from the State of J&K besides the number of civil and military Officers.
The young soldiers who distinguished themselves in varied facets of training were also felicitated by the General Officer Recruit Anikait Manhas received the Sher-e-Kashmir Sword of Honour and Tiveni Singh Medal for being adjudged Over all Best Recruit' and Recruit Vijay Singh bagged the Chewang Rinchen Medal for being Best in Firing.
Speaking about the event, an army spokesperson said, "The passing out soldier hailed from all the religions and religions of Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir marching in precise unison with a singular aim of devoting their lives in service of their nation, singing their Regimental Song 'Balidanam Veer Lakshanam', inspired one and all as their voice echoed in the Kashmir Valley".
He added that the salute of soldiers to the Tri-Colour with National Anthem playing inspired patriotic ardor amongst all present during the parade.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General GOC, 15 Corps K.J.S Dhillon congratulated the Young Soldiers for their immaculate Parade and impressed upon selfless service towards the Nation.
He praised soldier's contribution towards encouraging from J&K to come forward to join the Security Forces and also highlighted the vital role played by their parents in motivation their parents in motivating their wards to join this noble profession.
"I am happy to be a part of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment. It was my dream to join the army. It will pay the way for more youth in my area to come forward and join the army. It is my duty to serve the nation. And, I will give my 100 percent while I will be in my uniform", said passing out soldier.
