Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 11: Jammu and Kashmir cricket team defeated the host Uttarakhand by a huge margin of 253 runs in their first Ranji Match of the season and secured six points from the first game. Ram Dayal, bowling all the rounder of Jammu was awarded Man of the Match for his contribution in both batting and bowling.
Chasing an enormous score of 402 runs was never too easy for the hosts Uttarakhand after failing to score in triple-digit in the first inning of the match. None of the batsmen could click and score big to register a win.
On day 3, host Uttarakhand continued the game with an overnight score of 18 for 3. Bowlers from J&K gave them no chance whatever to open their arms and make a comeback in the game. Ram Dayal and Mohammed Mudhasir ran through the middle order with Uttarakhand rolled out for 149 runs.
Ram Dayal took five wickets in 16 over's, Umar and Mudhasir took two wickets each. Dikhanshu Negi stood the solo batsman in way of J&K team. He scored 55 runs and remained not out, while no other batsman provided a helping hand to Negi.
Duo pacers of Jammu and Kashmir Mudhasir and Ram Dayal took 17 wickets together in second innings. With ball running in both ways, the J&K team showed maturity in the second inning by scoring more than 300 runs, while scoring just 182 runs in the first inning.
Jammu and Kashmir team will next face Maharashtra on December 17 in their second match. Jammu and Kashmir's team is currently placed on the second spot with six points with eight games to play.
Talking to Early Times Captain Jammu and Kashmir Ahmed Banday said, "It was a bowling track and bowlers really bowled. They were on the tight spot from day one. We will be facing Maharashtra next on December 17. And, most probably the team will remain the same for the next match as well".
