JAMMU, Dec 14: Child Development Project Officer Jammu, Akanksha Kalsotra organized awareness programme on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' at Rameshwar Palace.
Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest where as Deputy Mayor JMC Purnima Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Chairman Social Justice Committee JMC, Jeet Angral, District Programme Officer, ICDS Projects Jammu, Natasha Kalsotra, SDM North, Satish Sharma and the Corporators Surinder Sharma, Yash Pal, Tripta Devi, Subash Sharma and Yash Paul were the Special Guests.
Along with others Supervisors, Health Staff, Anganwadi Workers of ICDS Project Jammu and Meritorious Students from GHSS Rehari, GGHSS Mubarak Mandi, GGHSS Bazar Qasaban, GHS Janipur, GHSS Camp Roop Nagar and GHSS Canal Road and other local Beneficiaries of Ladli Beti were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor JMC appealed the masses to give equal importance to girl child. Expressing his concern over declining Child Sex Ratio he highlighted the importance of government schemes such as Ladli Beti which provide financial support to the beneficiaries.
Welcoming the participants, CDPO said that the aim of organizing programme on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' was to spread awareness among the women and general public about the declining Child Sex Ratio.
Artist of Department of Information Jammu and Anganwadi Workers of ICDS Project Jammu presented songs and skit items on the theme BBBP.
GGHSS Rehari Students also took part in Debate Competition on topic "Role of Women in Development of Modern India under BBBP". Ladli Beti pass books were also distributed among 90 beneficiaries and Baby Care Kits were also given to the newly born baby girls. Meritorious girl students who had excelled in 10th class board results were also felicitated.
