Extension Educator enjoys plum posting at Dy CMO office Kupwara
1/18/2020 12:05:52 AM

SRINAGAR, Jan 17: The tall claims of accountability and transparency of the government seems to be confined on papers only, the Extension Educator official of Family Welfare MCH and Immunization (FWMCH&I) department actually posted in Langate Medical Block of Kupwara district performs his duty at Dy CMO Office Kupwara from last ten years.
Highly placed sources in the department informed early times that, ‘from last ten years, Extension Educator (name with held) posted in Langate medical block and is attached to the Deputy Chief Medical Office (Dy CMO) Kupwara.
“Extension Educator (EE) presently attached at Dy CMO office Kupwara is enjoying his posting from last more than 10 years with an additional charge of District Asha coordinator and clerical work”, said sources.
Sources while quoting the various extension educators of district alleged that, “due to the patronage of higher ups in the department one extension educator who was actually posted in medical block Langate of border district is enjoying his choicest place of duty at Dy CMO's Kupwara from last more than 10 years, adding the official has been also assigned the charge of District Asha coordinator and almost clerical job at Dy CMO office Kupwara.
However, if sources are to be believed they said that, FWMCH&I Kupwara is in mess due to patronages and mismanagement from the higher ups of the department.
There are various employees of the health department that have not been moved or transferred from the District Headquarter to other places from last more than 10 years and with the result, other well capable and qualified employees associated with the department are losing their talent and efficiency, sources alleged.
Sources further said that, the (EE) is enjoying his overstay posting in the block Kupwara and he is now trying hard to manage his permanent posting in Dy CMO Kupwara, adding at many times he was transferred but that has only remained confined to papers only.
The reliable sources also said that, the actual clerical staffs that are posted at Dy CMO office have been bypassed and they are not in a position to perform their duties that clearly indicates there is something fishy that is going on in the Dy CMO office Kupwara.
While as sources also said that the Extensions Educators, Junior Health Inspectors (JHI) and Health Educators those who are posted in far-flung areas of the District are not being provided an opportunity to be posted or to perform their duties or to work as District Asha coordinator in Dy CMO office Kupwara, due to the alleged criminal nexus between some influential officials with higher-ups in the department.
Interesting aspect is that department is not filling two vacant posts of Extension Educator at Dy CMO office Kupwara from last several years despite good number of well qualified extension educators who are right now posted at various far-flung blocks of District are available in the district.

Pertinently there are many employees in health department who are still attached at different places across the Kashmir valley and irony is that they are taking their salaries from their original place of posting, sources in the health department told ET on the condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, Early Times brought up this matter before the Director Family Welfare MCH and Immunization, Dr Arun Sharma, who said that, “I have no knowledge about this matter, usually we don’t do attachments of any employee but definitely if there are reports of any such attachments, I will take action against them.
“I will look into the matter after the Pulse Polio Immunization will come to an end,” the Director FWMCH&I added.
