De-radicalization can end by hitting the source
‘10, 12 year old boys and girls being radicalized in Kashmir’
1/18/2020 12:07:16 AM

JAMMU, Jan 17: Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat has revealed that de-radicalization camps are operating in the country to isolate the people who are completely radicalized.
In his address at the Raisna Dialogue while referring to situation in Kashmir the CDS said that young girls and boys as young as 10 and 12 years are being radicalized in the Valley and it’s a matter of concern.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Young boys and girls being radicalized in Kashmir has been discussed widely but it’s for the first time that any top officer has admitted that there are de-radicalization camps in the country and the completely radicalized elements are being counseled.”
He said, “Besides exporting terrorism our neighbouring country has also exported radicalization to our country. One can imagine the designs of Pakistan vis-à-vis India. There only agenda seems to spill blood in the Valley. Pakistan has been fighting a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir for the past thirty years by sending terrorists and bleeding us in one or other way. Now it’s trying to manufacture human bombs within our country.”
An observer said, “Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has emerged as the base camp for all the terror related activities. Even the roots of radicalization are linked to the PoK. There is a consensus in India that if our leadership wants to end the terrorism and radicalization, a decisive action has to be taken to dismantle the terror infrastructure by stepping over the Line of Control.”
He said that since the day United States killed an Iranian commander by carrying out an airstrike in Iraq voices in our country are demanding a similar action should be taken against the terrorists and their bosses sitting in PoK. “We have got an evidence to prove how Pakistan has turned the PoK into a breeding ground for terrorists and how the human bombs are being manufactured there to kill the innocents,” he added.
The observer said, “India can explore the possibility about following the strategy adopted by the United States to eliminate the terror bosses like Mumbai attack master mind Hafiz Saeed and JeM chief Masood Azhar. People like them are the main source of terror and radicalization and they have to be taken care off to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists. Hitting these terror bosses will send a message that they can, no longer take things for granted and they would be hit below the belt if they don’t mend their ways.”
