Of 68 posts of Supervisors, 33 lying vacant in ICDS Udhampur

Udhampur, Jan 24: At least 33 posts of supervisors under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Udhampur have been lying vacant in the district.
Sources in ICDS Udhmpur informed that there are 68 sanctioned posts of supervisors in seven projects across the district and out of which 35 posts are filled and rest 33 yet to be filled by the concerned authority, which seems to be least bothered to take note of the issue.
They further said that around seven projects are functional in the district which is headed by CDPOs. “In Udhampur 19 posts are sanctioned of which 18 are filled up and one lying vacant, similarly in Chenani, there 13 posts of supervisors and 7 posts are vacant, in Pancheri, out of 8 posts, 6 are vacant, in Basantgarh out of 7 sanctioned posts all are vacant, in Ramnagar there are 7 sanctioned while 5 are vacant, in Ghordi of 7 posts around 5 are vacant, while in Majalta out of 7 posts, 2 are lying vacant,” they informed.
Interestingly, Anganwari workers have been working as Incharge Supervisors at 21 posts they have not been paid their salary for the last one year.
Locals appealed to Lieutenant Governor to fill up all the vacant posts of supervisors so that Anganwari centres may run smoothly and children be benefited of the schemes. Anganwari workers demand immediate conduct of DPC for their regularization in the department. ICDS Udhampur Attar Chand admitted that there are vacant posts of supervisors in district. Meanwhile, Mission Director maintained that they have been working on the modalities of DPC.
