Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 13: Jammu Kashmir Sharnathi Action Committee ( JKSAC ) has expressed their gratitude to administrative council headed by Lt. Governor for simplifying the procedure to claim the relief in respect of DP's of 1947 from POK who were initially registered outside J&K but later on returned back and settled here in J&K.
The participants in the meeting also urged upon LG Murmu to prepare a separate comprehensive road map for the final settlement of DP's of 1947 from POJK having absolutely no similarity with other categories of DP's as they are the worst victims of one of the biggest genocide of the modern history of the world.
While apprising the participants Gurdev Singh President along with Nater Parkash and Tarlok Singh Tara said that we are grateful to Sh. GC Murmu Lt. Governor, Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma, Simrandeep Singh Special Secretary DMRRR and PRO Jammu for mooting a proposal and for taking prompt action over the memorandum submitted by JKSAC on 11-1-2020 to simplify the procedure for obtaining relief assistance of Rs 5.5 lacs in the respect of those DP families from POJK who initially went outside J&K after 1947 in search of food and shelter but later on returned and settled here.
He said that govt. was very kind to issue an order No- 07-JK(DMRRR) dated 11-12-2019 where in such families were allowed to make claim for relief but were asked to provide voter list of 1965&71 kept mandatory to prove their residential status in J&K. which, now have been revoked by the Govt. The procedure has been simplified by the Govt. and there is no need to obtain the old voter list, instead the latest voter list, ration card or electricity bill are sufficient to establish the residential status to seek the relief.
Other who spoke were Sushil Kumar sarpanch, Satpal panch Om parkash Panch, Master Yog Raj and Santosh Kumar.
