JAMMU, Feb 17: Five-day long training programme- ‘IMPACT’ for capacity building of Key Resource Persons concluded today here at Jammu University.
The training was organized by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha in association with NCERT, New Delhi and envisaged to train the Key Resource Persons, who shall further impart the training to Teachers Grade II and III across J&K at their respective DIETs.
The training was a special initiative taken by Samagra Shiksha on the directions of Lieutenant Governor of J&K who stressed upon organising a mega scale training programme for all the Grade II and III teachers of newly created UT. The training programme was monitored by Director NCERT, Prof H. Sanapaty who himself participated in the sessions and interacted with the trainees. Besides, senior faculty members from NCERT took interactive sessions throughout the week long programme.
The participants, who were from teaching fraternity of school education, were quite satisfied with the training.
During interaction, some of the participants expressed that it was a unique kind of training that shall help in refining and enhancing teaching skills of Grade II and III teachers at ground level. The methodology used during the sessions was outstanding and very practical in nature that helped the trainees to understand the concept of modules being discussed with them. The training focused on key modules like Learning Outcomes, School Based Assessment and Inclusive Education etc. Separate groups were formed where team of Experts from NCERT provided trainings on pre-defined schedule.
Dr. Arun Manhas, State Project Director Samagra Shiksha, while addressing the trainees, told that teacher training is an integral and most significant part of the education system without which quality learning cannot be attained. In service teachers need to be imparted trainings on updated subjective developments and modern pedagogical skills. Dr. Manhas told that Samagra Shiksha has been organizing various training and orientation programmes for teachers and Educational Administrators to attain quality learning levels and improve the score of PGI (Performance Grading Indices) indicators at par with national levels. He advised the trainees to efficiently impart the acquired knowledge to the teachers in their respective districts and to keep a track of the classroom transformations.
During valedictory, Prof. Ranjna Arora also addressed the participants and motivated the trainees to keep in constant connect with their teachers as well as Resource Persons from NCERT. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Prof Ram Babu Pareek and Prof A. K. Rajput.
