Jammu, Feb 23: Karnataka defiantly have an upper hand against Jammu and Kashmir on day four stumps as Karnataka lead by 259 runs in second innings despite batting collapse in first innings in a Ranji Match which is being played at Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir were trailing by 118 runs on day three stumps and were two wickets down. With game resuming of fourth day of the match Jammu and Kashmir had an upper hand but failed to gain momentum.
Jammu and Kashmir kept losing wickets on regular pace. Despite Shubham Khajurias half century Jammu and Kashmir team could not even surpass the score of Karnataka and fell short of 14 runs in first innings.
Pundir was first wicket to fall on the day. Captain Parveez Rasool could not trouble the score board and fell just after the wicket of Pundir. Khajuria and Abdul Samad had a little partnership however that was not enough as other batsmen kept coming and throwing their wickets. With pitch so flat, bowlers of Karnataka used the pace and were hitting deck hard and attacking pads which were in the favor of the team. Parsidh was the pick of the bowlers for Karnataka he took four wickets in 11 over and conceded just 42 runs. Learning from first innings mistake, openers of Karnataka gave a 53 runs partnership which set the momentum for the other batsman. Bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir were looking helpless with young pacers giving all they can.
Then came the Rasool into the attack and he break the partnership. Few over’s later Mujataba struck with second wicket of Captain Karun Nair. International cricketer, Manish Pandey played entertaining knock of 35 runs in 35 balls, before falling to Parvez Rasool.
Jammu and Kashmir team have to bowl out Karnataka under the score of 300 runs else it will be difficult for them to get back into the game.
