Uncertainty mars J&K, youth cheated, betrayed: Congress
2/27/2020 12:57:53 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday alleged that there is uncertainty prevailing in the Union Territory and the youth is cheated and betrayed by the policies of Bharatiya Janata Party.
''The youth of J&K are facing cheated betrayed and deprived of their valuable rights and there are no jobs even in government sector in view of prevailing uncertainty,'' JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir said while chairing a meeting of party cadre to discuss the current scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.
The meeting expressed shock over the loss of several precious lives and injuries to several persons in the national capital Delhi and termed it as a matter of grave concern.
He said that the different sections of the people especially the youth are agitating for their respective demands, which are quite justified.
''They are seeking fulfillment of the commitments made to these sections from time to time by the Govt and especially the BJP'', said Mr Mir adding that the youth feel cheated and betrayed by the BJP, which is at the helm of affairs.
The meeting expressed anger and anguish over the violent incidents in the national capital under the nose of the Centre and State Government which they termed as a matter of serious concern and national shame.
The meeting appealed to the people to maintain peace and religious harmony at all costs and defeat the nefarious designs of communal and divisive forces in the country and also took stock of the current political and security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
''The BJP Govt. has arbitrarily withdrawn the 5 years concessions to the youth of J&K in civil services besides abolishing J&K cadre. The issue of SRO 202 is quite justified demand and needs to be resolved immediately,” said Mir adding that the party has taken strong exception to the failure of the present Govt. at the Centre and UT administration to respond positively and favourably to the different suffering sections of Jammu and Kashmir including the different categories employees especially those on temporary, adhoc, contractual and daily wage basis.
The meeting also noticed the alleged dual standards and false commitments of BJP regarding the imposition of taxes on the transporters under MVA and the toll plazas, least caring for the great economic distress in the country.
On the political and security front, the party said that the Centre and UT administration is not taking any positive steps to facilitate a conducive political atmosphere in the state.
