|BJP distributes ration amongst labourers, poor|
|Early Times Report|
Jammu, Apr 6: Continuing its efforts to ensure that poor and daily wagers besides workers as well as labourers, who are stuck in their localities due to nationwide lockdown, don’t sleep without food, Executive Member BJP J&K Raman Suri has been distributing dry ration in different localities of Jammu, urban as well as rural, from Day 1 of the 21-day lockdown.
Today, a large number of people belonging to Below Poverty Line were provided with free dry ration at Gosai Basti, Jogi Gate in the presence of Kotwal Pancham Giri, who had identified those in dire need of ration. The party workers, led by Raman Suri, ensured that those people get ration who genuinely need it and people don’t hoard it in their homes unnecessarily.
Raman Suri told the people that there is no need to panic as the Union Government, the UT administration, Religious and Social Organisations, NGOs, Political Parties and various other social activists in their individual capacities are doing their best in whatever manner they can. He assured that no one will be made to suffer till the Government as well as these organisations and individuals are there.
He urged people to cooperate, try to plan their days with resources being provided, as the battle against Coronavirus is long and tough. He said that government is well-aware of the situation and this is the reason why shops of essential commodities including vegetables, fruits, grocery, medicine, fair price shops, government ration depots and other essentials are operating.
All what is needed is that people do not move out unnecessarily, and come out of their homes only in case of emergency while maintaining social distance. They shouldn’t crowd shops and vegetable markets, wash hands with soap frequently, sanitise articles that they bring home, maintain hygiene and follow Government advisories.
