Litter collected from COVID 19 quarantine centers being thrown at public places

Kishtwar, May 22: At the time when Kishtwar District has witnessed 6 positive cases in last three days with more people who are part of poll samples could be tested positive, the officials running the affairs of COVID 19 centers at Kishtwar were seen showing non serious approach towards proper disposal of the litter being collected from these centers.
As per the details available with Early Times, there are two COVID 19 centers at DIET Kishtwar and Asrariya Valley Public School situated in the heart of Kishtwar town in Ward No. 7 behind Boys Higher Secondary School where dozens of people with travel history from outside Union Territory, the local people living in and around the vicinity of these two COVID 19 centers located in densely populated area allege that the litter collected from these COVID centers is being thrown outside their homes posing open threat to their health and lives as their is every possibility of spread of virus through this litter which is lying scattered in the street outside the COVID centers and called upon the concern authorities for proper disposal of the waste material collected from these COVID 19 centers so that the disease could not spread in Kishtwar.
Some people also called for shifting of these centers away from densely populated areas to far away and open areas with no population around.
Speaking to Early Times, Lecturer Majid Mushtaq Kichloo inform that the management of COVID 19 center did not throw any waste material on road added that the same is being disposed off properly hinting that the litter spread in the street near the COVID 19 center might be from DIET Kishtwar Center.
When confronted the lecture refuse to blame management of COVID 19 center at DIET Kishtwar building.
Some people even blame Executive Officer Municipal Council Kishtwar for his failure in proper disposal of the waste material collected from COVID 19 centers.
People said that Kishtwar Municipality and it’s official has been entrusted the responsibility of proper disposal of the waste material from COVID centers so that the spread of the infection could be prevented.
