Infant among three tested COVID positive in Doda district
167 inmates in Kishtwar quarantine centers, 29 sent back to home

JAMMU, May 30: In an unfortunate development, one and a half year old child was found COVID-19 positive among three persons in Doda district while at the same time, 29 persons were today released from various quarantine centers in Kishtwar District.
As per the details available with Early Times, the report of one and half year old child found out to be positive while his parents are negative including his mother who is at advance stage of pregnancy.
The official sources told the Early Times, that the child has been shifted to Doda hospital for treatment and observation while his parents had been kept under administrative quarantine added that parents will be allowed to accompany the child as per strict protocol as warranted.
The officials said that they are looking into the aspects that how this child has come in contact with the virus while at the same time the family members of the child are demanding fresh sampling and text of the minor child.
The other two cases of Doda district belong to Assar and Gandoh block.
While the Gandoh positive case was already in quarantine center after he arrived from Samba where he was working as labourer- however the Assar block positive case has no travel history and is at home since first week of March after his arrival from Srinagar.
The official sources told the Early Times that the Assar positive case has applied for post of JCB operator in a private company who laid down the condition for COVID test as mandatory for joining the duty and accordingly he got his COVID test conducted from Ramban District where he found out to be positive.
As soon as District Administration Doda receive an information about report of positive case from Assar with no travel history, the family members of the positive case had immediately been shifted to quarantine center along with few villagers who are living with in the vicinity of the house of the positive case.
The administration has being the exercise to track the contact of COVID positive.
Meanwhile 167 persons are in administrative quarantine at Kishtwar and as a part of rapid test sampling, 36 samples were today collected at District Hospital Kishtwar.
However those kept at Quarantine facility center at High School Poochal today complainant about serving less quantity of food to them by the concern officials.
They also complain about delay in arrival of test reports for COVID-19 added that there samples has been collected on 18-5-2020 and only report of few inmates was received while rest are still are awaited.
According to the officials, one COVID 19 positive has been found from this quarantine center with travel history from Nagpur.
When contacted BMO Kishtwar Dr Ghansham assured that he will take up the matter of serving less quantity of the food to inmates kept inside the quarantine facility center at Poochal adding that however the final decision with regard to sending them back to home will be taken only after following due protocol.
