Early Times Report

Jammu, May 30: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have once again started claiming that the next chief minister of J&K will be from Jammu but have added another dimension to it that he will be from their party.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “It seems someone needs to tell these BJP leaders that they should stop day dreaming about having their chief minister in place. After delimitation ends Jammu region will have seven more assembly seats and people will have more options. Saffron party leaders should come out of the illusion that people of Jammu have no other choice other than to vote for them.”
Referring to the recent statement of a BJP leader that “Toll Plaza in Jammu will be removed soon after his party comes into power after elections in the UT,” the analyst said, “When the Toll Plaza had come up in Jammu the same BJP leaders had said that Centre has to take a call on it and they are helpless. Now how can he claim that they will remove the Toll Plaza when they come into power? Recently they said that BJP should not be blamed for 4G internet services not being restored in Jammu. Someone needs to ask them whom should people blame then?”
“Despite failing to address the issues which the skin of a common man these BJP leaders believe that they will form the government and the leader from their party will be the chief minister. Isn’t it strange?” he asked.
An observer said, “People of Jammu went out of way to support the BJP in 2014 assembly elections and the party succeeded in winning 25 out of 37 seats. Later it went on to share power with the PDP for nearly three and a half years. During that period they never looked back towards the people who had voted for them and left them in lurch.”
He said, “The BJP leaders avoiding the people who voted for them led to many new alternatives appearing on the scene and these new faces are working relentlessly to help the people in the pandemic. They are not clicking pictures and seeking people publicity, these new faces are working on the ground to ensure that people get some relief during these tough times.”
Another analyst said, “BJP leaders should stop worrying about the people of Jammu as they have learnt to be self-reliant. They need to worry about themselves as they are all set to face tough competition in Jammu, which they still think is their citadel.”
