Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 31: Two COVID patients including a 75-year old woman from Dachhan in Kishtwar district, after recovering successfully from the disease have been discharged and sent back to home
As per the details available with Early Times, a mother-son duo admitted in Government Medical College Jammu was today sent back to home after they were declared as fully cured by the hospital management.
Speaking to Early Times, DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara confirmed the recovery of two coronavirus positive cases of Kishtwar district adding that the rest of the five COVID-19 positive patients under treatment are also showing good signs of improvement and it is hoped that all of them will come out from hospitals soon.
Meanwhile, a major goof up which has surfaced from Assar collection center in Doda district on Jammu-Kishtwar National Highway, has put the lives of people in Doda and Kishtwar districts at risk.
According to sources, the authorities at the helm of the affairs had collected the samples of all those people with travel history from outside Union Territory as well as from Red Zones, but surprisingly they were allowed to go to homes without waiting for the results of the test reports, thereby putting the lives of the people of Doda and Kishtwar districts at risk. The official sources told the Early Times that at least three drivers belonging to Paddar area of Kishtwar District were tested for COVID-19 at Assar on May 27 and were reported positive today but surprisingly all the three were allowed to move towards home by the dealing officials at Assar Doda.
Speaking to Early Times, DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara confirmed three positive cases of drivers belonging to Paddar area whose samples of COVID-19 were taken earlier at Assar adding that contact tracking is being done to prevent the spread of the disease in Paddar area. It is pertinent to mention that after establishment of sample collection units at Assar and Thathri, the Thathri nakka at entry point of Kishtwar District has been let loose to avoid inconvenience to the people traveling on Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway.
The official sources told the Early Times that over one dozen people had been tested positive at Assar sampling facility and all of them were allowed to go homes without waiting for the final report of the COVID test.
The officials however refused to fix responsibility on anyone at this time for this major lapse adding that the primary concern for them is to trace out the contact of all the positive cases reported at Assar, Doda.
