BARAMULLA, July 2: Out of 154 cases, twenty one fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 657 active positive cases, 1777 are cumulative, 26 recovered and 25 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 02, 2020 (Thursday), In Baramulla district, 19 fresh positive cases including 01 traveler and 18 others were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 928, and the active positive cases stands at 501, and cumulative recovered cases are 409, including of 24 while as 18 deaths have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara district, there is no fresh positive case reported today, while as there are 553 cumulative cases, 134 are active positive cases, cumulative recovered 412 including of 01 as on date, and 06 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 02 fresh positive cases including one each as among travelers and others has been reported in this north Kashmir district today, whereas 296 are cumulative cases, 32 are active positive, 263 are cumulative recovered including 01 recoveries as on date and 01 death has occurred so far.
Meanwhile, district magistrate Baramulla convened a meeting of MC members today to discuss anti-covid measures.
In its efforts to combat COVID-19 outbreak in the district, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of members of Municipal Council (MC) to discuss various anti-corona measures to contain the transmission of virus.
DC emphasized for maintaining sanitation and hygiene and urged upon the people to follow all the requisite advisories and guidelines issued in connection with COVID-19 in letter and spirit.
He also exhorted upon the vulnerable persons, especially senior citizens, to remain more cautious and not assemble at such spots where the gathering is expected.
DC also directed the SSP Baramulla to ensure the implementation of all the SOPs and guidelines and said that any kind of laxity won’t be tolerated.
An advisory was issued today vide no: DMB/NO/COVID-19 /2020/41-45 dated 02/07/2020, that reads, in view of prevailing situation due to Covid-19 and the resultants deaths, it has been observed that elderly persons above 60 years are more prone to the virus.
It has been experienced that many shopkeepers above 60 years are actively running their business after unlock- first which is harmful for them and their families.
In view of this, all such shopkeepers whose age is 60 years and above are advised to remain indoors in the home and arrange their suitable replacement to run the business. All magistrates shall ensure that the advisory is followed in letter and spirit, said an advisory.
