RAJESH TANDON

EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, July 2: On one hand government claims of providing relief and rehabilitation to the poor people through its various schemes and on the other, there are many poor families, who remained deprived of these schemes.
One such example of this deprivation is a poor family living in village Sagra of Tehsil Mankot, which remained at disadvantage of the all the government run schemes.
As per reports, a family of 7 members living in village Sagra in a damaged house has been deprived of all the Government schemes. The family moved from pillar to post to highlight their issues, which they face on day to day basis, but none from the administration paid any heed.
“We projected our problems before each and everyone in Administration including our area’s Sarpanch and leaders, but all in vain”, said head of the family Mohammad Isaaq, adding that his house got damaged due to heavy rains and they have been forced to live in it as no compensation was provided to them for the damaged house due to natural calamity.
“I have four daughters and a handicapped son. I moved from pillar to post to get benefit from any of the Government schemes so that I can feed my family properly. No one listened to my problems and finally I have to ask people of my village to provide some assistance so that I can feed my family”, Mohammad Issaq said having tears in his eyes.
The same situation was also narrated by his wife Saida Bi. “We have two young daughters who are eligible for marriage, but our situation is not good”, she said, adding that my 15-year-old son is handicap by birth and is bed ridden.
“On one side we got badly affected due to Coronavirus pandemic and on the other hand we have totally damaged house to live in and have no source of income”, she added.
The family members have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to come to their rescue.
“I have directed Naib Tehsildar to submit report of Mohammad Isaaq’s family and all needful will be done”, said Tehsildar Mendhar, Dr Vikram Kumar when contacted.
