BARAMULLA, July 7: Out of 256 positive cases, Fifty Six fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 830 active positive cases, cumulative cases crossed over 2035, 01 recovered and 38 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 7, 2020 (Tuesday), In Baramulla district, there are 30 fresh positive cases including 01 travelers, 29 others that were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1094, and the active positive cases stands at 616, and cumulative recovered cases are 450, while as 28 deaths, next highest after Srinagar that have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara district, 18 fresh positive cases including 08 travelers and 10 others that were reported today, while here also there is an increase with 625 cumulative cases, 183 are active positive cases, cumulative recovered are 435 as on date, and 07 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 08 fresh positive cases have been reported in this north Kashmir district today whereas 316 are cumulative cases, 31 are active positive, 282 are cumulative recovered including 01 recoveries as on date and 03 death has occurred so far.
Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday carried out a special sanitisation drive in Uri town after one person from the area tested positive for coronavirus infection.
A special chemical, Quaternary Ammonium Chloride, recommended by experts, was used in today’s fumigation.
The process was carried under Standard Operation Procedure (SOP).
The MC Uri carried out fumigation of Shops, Bus Stand , Sumo Stand, Residential complex service stations their premises and even the vehicles.
“We ensured everything is sanitised. The virus remains on the things which have been touched or came into contact with an infected person.
The virus then transmits to other healthy persons when he/she touches such contaminated things,” said Incharge sanitation drive Municipal Committee Uri Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.
Locals said even the handles of doors and windows were sanitised by the MC Uri teams.
There are reports that, Indian System of Medicine (AYUSH) Tuesday organized an awareness camp regarding preventive measures of COVID 19 at Hajin Bandipora and distributed immune booster medicines among the locals.
While as the Sub Divisional Magistrate Sumbal, Dr. Bashir Lone Tuesday visited Sumbal Market to inspect the implementation of precautionary measures amid COVID19 pandemic and urged people to adhere to SOPs.
