74 fresh positive, 1051 active positive cases, 21 recovered and 44 deaths till date in north Kashmir
DM Kupwara imposes 3 days restriction in the district

KUPWARA, July 11: At a time when there is a surge in fresh positive cases and deaths in the UT of J&K, people are demanding for re-imposition of lock down by two-three weeks so that the virus could be contained from spreading, and today out of 268 positive cases, seventy four fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 1051 active positive cases, cumulative cases crossed over 2370, while only 21 have recovered and 44 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 11, 2020 (Saturday), In Baramulla district, since the outbreak of the pandemic diseases there are 37 fresh positive cases that were reported today including 01 travelers and 36 others, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1288, and the active positive cases stands at 743, and cumulative recovered cases are 513 while as 32 deaths, next highest after Srinagar that have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara district, 37 fresh positive cases that were reported today including 02 travelers and 35 others while there is an increase in cumulative cases that have gone up to 746 cases, 264 are active positive cases, cumulative recovered are 473 including 15 as on date, and 09 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, there is no fresh positive case reported today, whereas 336 are cumulative cases, 44 are active positive, 336 are cumulative recovered including 06 as on date, and 03 death has occurred so far.
Meanwhile, DM Kupwara imposes 3 days restriction in the district, according to an order vide no: DCK/PS/2020/04/1730-36 dated 11/07/2020, that said restrictions were imposed in the district in view of Covid-19 from 8 June 2020, vide this office order no: DCK/PS/2020-04/1241-47 dated 07/06/2020.
With an aim to control the spread of COVID-19 infection, District Magistrate Kupwara Anshul Garg today imposed restrictions under section 144 CrPC and section 34 of Disaster Management Act on any public or vehicular movement within the district including town areas of Kupwara, Handwara and Langate from July 12 to July 14, 2020.
Therefore in view of the above and in exercise of powers, conferred under section 144 CRPC and Section 34 Disaster Management Act, it is hereby order that, all the shops in the district including town areas of Kupwara, Handwara and Langate shall remain closed for a period of three days.
There shall be complete restrictions on movement of public transport, thesilsdars shall deploy duty magistrates at the prominent places with their respective jurisdiction to ensure universal wearing of masks and penalizing offenders as per this office order no.
Superintendent of police Kupwara/Handwara shall deploy special nakas and duty personal to restrict movement of any public transport and seize any unauthorized vehicles found plying in violation of this order, the restrictions shall remain in forces throughout the district except with minor modifications as enlisted.
