85 fresh positive, 1003 active positive cases, 31 recovered and 46 deaths so far in north Kashmir

BARAMULLA, July 12: Out of 357 positive cases, Eighty five fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 1003 active positive cases, cumulative cases crossed over 2445, while only 31 have recovered and 46 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date.
According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 12, 2020 (Sunday), In Baramulla district, 31 fresh positive cases that were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1319, and the active positive cases stands at 742, and cumulative recovered cases are 544 including 31 as on date while as 33 deaths, next highest after Srinagar that have occurred so far in this district.
In Kupwara district, 25 fresh positive cases that were reported today while there is an increase in cumulative cases that have gone up to 771 cases, 288 are active positive cases, cumulative recovered are 473 and 10 deaths have occurred so far.
In Bandipora district, 29 fresh positive cases reported today, whereas 365 are cumulative cases, 73 are active positive, 289 are cumulative recovered, and 03 death has occurred so far.
Meanwhile, amid a spike in COVID-19 positive cases, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today reiterated that administration will strictly implement all the related SOPs and guidelines for mitigating the risk of infection.
During a press brief, the DC said that a viable mechanism has been framed to ensure that public health is not compromised in any way adding that any kind of laxity won’t be tolerated in the larger public interest.
While elaborating the details as envisaged in the SOPs, DC said that district administration has taken some serious initiatives for controlling the spread of coronavirus but these methods wouldn’t yield any positive result without the cooperation of the general public.
Dr Itoo said that a special women squad shall be formulated who shall monitor the implementation of requisite SOPs by the women.
DC also informed that it shall be mandatory for every shopkeeper to have COVID-19 negative certificate issued by the competent authority, without which the shopkeeper won’t be allowed to open their shops.
He also informed that concerned SDMs and Tehsildars shall monitor the implementation of these SOPs and guidelines in their respective jurisdictions.
