|ASKPC pays homage to KP victims of 1931, recalls their sacrifice|
|EARLY TIMES REPORT|
JAMMU, July 13: Recalling the silent sufferings and brutal assault on Kashmiri Pandits in the valley on that dark day of 13th July 1931, when criminals and anti-nationals went berserk, protesting violently against the then Maharaja, laying the foundation of the blood bath that is being orchestrated periodically since then in the name of separatism and terrorism, Advocate Ravinder Raina President ASKPC declared that all those selfless sacrifices of Kashmiri Pandits right from 1931 to the times leading to the ethnic cleansing of the community in 1990s, needed to be redeemed by establishing a safe and secure heaven, overflowing with peace, humanity and spirituality, in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
President ASKPC, while paying homage to the community martyrs for unflinching faith & conviction in their nationalism, said the present government has recognized their sacrifice by removing the blot of celebrating the so called Youm-e-Shuhada by cancelling the holiday in the official calendar of the Government. In a simple memorial function in ASKPC Bhawan, as per Covid protocol, Advocate Raina President ASKPC, conveyed the sentiments of the community to the dynamic central leadership on the bold step of correcting the historical blunders committed in J&K in the past.
General Secretary ASKPC Dr T K Bhat demanded that in the wake of suppression and violence since 1931 and then the genocide of 1990, all those responsible for committing atrocities on the KP community should be brought to book. This assumes significance and requires an impartial probe, as KPs continue to be at the receiving end which is reflected sadly by the brutal assassination of Late Ajay Pandita Bharti, who was building peaceful bridges with the majority community, stated General Secretary ASKPC.
